Professional Conduct Policy.

Thank you for using Opti Education, Inc.  doing business as Aptitude (“we”, “our”, “company”), bringing together talent, alumni, educators, experts and employers in a community intended to help one another find, prepare and succeed in our career journeys while treating each other with respect.    Your interactions and the content you may contribute should add to the Aptitude community in a constructive and positive manner.  

The Professional Conduct Policy outlines core basics on how we expect each and every one of us from Aptitude employees, partners and participants to adhere to.    Allowing us to make Aptitude a place that is not only welcoming but allows each of us to achieve our optimal potential.

  • Be professional:   As we explore, learn and grow its important to always be professional.  
  • Be respectful:   Treat everyone with respect, courtesy, timeliness and civility.
  • Be authentic:   Use your real identify and share information that is real and trustworthy.

When you see bad behavior.

At any time when you see something that you believe may violate our policies while on Aptitude whether in program sessions, posts, messages, comments or anywhere on our controlled sites please report it to us as soon as possible.  

Your actions will allow us to moderate the platform, identify and prevent abusive behavior or actions.    Please use these reporting tools responsibility and only for their intended purposes.

Penalty for Professional Conduct Policy violations.

Understanding any violation of the Professional Policies may results in action against your membership and account.  As these policies apply to all members, partners and employees.   Depending on the severity of the violation, we may take action that may lead up to full, lifelong loss of privileges as a member of the Service.  

If you believe any action taken to your membership and account was in error you may contact Aptitude to submit an appeal.

Be professional.

Our mission is to build pathways to careers for everyone.    And to do so we offer not only programs allowing you to learn in-demand skills while gaining hands-on experience and opportunities to grow your career from a pre-intern to intern to full-time employee and beyond.  

While you are participating and growing on Aptitude, we aspire to build your professional skills.

Conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.

Thereby we expect each member to treat one other with respect, courtesy and civility when interacting with one another.

so please follow the golden rule of treating others on the platform the same as you would want to be treated yourself.

Do not be hateful.

We do not allow for content, activities or events that attack, denigrate, intimidates, incites or threatens hatred, violence, prejudicial or discriminatory action against others due to their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, gender identify, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or disability status.     We do not allow for use of racial, religious or other actions that incite or promote hatred on our sites.     We do not allow for any content, activities or events that deny well-documented historical events such as the Holocaust or slavery in the United States on the site.

Do not be inappropriate.

We don’t allow content that is not appropriate in a professional work setting which are Not Safe For Work (“NSFW”).

  • Any content, photos, or videos that contain violence, nudity, sexual activity, graphic acts, or any other content which could be deemed inappropriate..
  • Any content, activities or events that promote, or facilitate criminal activity including drugs, theft, exploitation of others, suicide, self-injury, self-harm, or other illegal activities.

If you are unsure if something is inappropriate please exercise good judgement and typically when in doubt, don't post such content or if entirely unsure ask your Program Coordinator.

Do not engage in sexual innuendos or unwanted advances.

Aptitude is a professional career development platform, not a dating site and as such we don’t allow for unwanted expressions of sexual advances or innuendo, attraction, requests for romantic relationships or proposals, or lewd remarks.    

Do not use the Aptitude platform or affiliated partner sites to ask other members for romantic dates, romantic connections or provide unwanted sexual commentary on someone’s appearance.     This includes no unwanted advances in the form of messages, posts or comments or any explicit content or images to anyone on the Aptitude platform.

Do not spam others on the platform.

We don’t allow for our community-focused communication features to be used to send promotional messages to spam other members or send unsolicited promotional messages.   We don’t wish to have or allow irrelevant, unwanted, unauthorized, in-appropriate commercial, or gratuitously repetitive messages or content.

Be respectful.

Our Professional Conduct Policy asks each member to treat others with respect, courtesy and civility which would befit the expectations of a professional, modern work environment.

Do not harass others.

This is a professional environment and we do not allow for any bullying or harassment on our platform.   This includes targeted personal attacks, intimidation, shaming, disparagement, and abusive language directed at other member(s).    We don’t allow for any unwanted sexual advances on our platform.

Do not threaten, incite or promote violence.

We have zero tolerance for any language, activities, or content that threaten, incite or promote violence against individuals or groups.    We don’t allow for the promotion or support of any violent, extremist, criminal or terrorist organizations on our platform.

Do not promote, sell or attempt to purchase illegal goods or services.

We don’t allow for activities or content that facilitates the transaction of illegal goods and/or services on our site.    These may include promotion or sale of scraped data, proxy test-taking, or false educational certifications.

Do not be tardy.

A professional environment expects you to be on time, be ready to participate, and complete tasks on time. Be respectful of the time of your peers, mentors, coordinators and others on the platform.

Be authentic.

As with any professional work environment one needs to use their real identify, provide accurate information as to yourself and share only information that is real and authentic with other members of the community.

Do not misrepresent yourself or your work.

We don’t allow for creation of fake profiles.   Do not post deceptive information about yourself, your experience, your background, your photo or likeness.   Do not use or attempt to use another person’s account or create a member profile for anyone other than yourself.   Nor should you share your Aptitude account with anyone else.

We work to provide you opportunities to grow skills, gain experience and build your professional network to accelerate your career journey.  As such we expect each of you to do your own work and not misrepresent the coursework, project work or other deliverables done by others as your own as this only harms not only the experience of others working with you but your own experience and reputation.

Do not share false or misleading information.

Do not share information or content that you know is, or think may be, misleading or accurate, including misinformation or disinformation.   Do not engage in activities to create false or misleading content on the site that negatively affects other members or the community as a whole.  Do not share violate any copyright contents without the written permission of the owner of said content.

Do not attempt to scam, defraud or deceive others.

We have zero tolerance for any schemes, scams or other activities with the intent to deceive or defraud any members on the Aptitude platform.    Do not share, push or upload malicious software or code that puts other members, our platform or Services at risk.
